Our favorite super saiyans might be taking up the superhero business in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the newest film from the Dragon Ball franchise to hit the screens in 2022.
Yes, this is one of the rare times we are allowed to mention the word "super" at most four times in one sentence. But don't worry, it's on purpose.
"We really wanted to emphasize that this move is all about the superhero vibes," teased executive producer Akio Iyoku during the Dragon Ball Special panel of San Diego Comic-Con@Home.

Nothing much is revealed about the plot of the movie, which originated as a manga series by Shueisha. The event did showcase character designs for Piccolo, Krillin, Pan, and a new unnamed character—who could be the movie’s eponymous superhero.

Our man from Namek, Piccolo is also finally getting his own crib on screen! (Well, we doubt he's been homeless but we didn't exactly see it throughout the entire four series and 13 movies!)

Apart from the character designs, the panel also played a clip featuring a highly stylized 3D model of Goku warming up for battle. From the looks of it, they’ll be using the same kind of hybrid animation style seen in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
ICYDK, Naruto manga creator Masashi Kishimoto cited Dragon Ball hero Goku as his inspiration for the titular character himself. That explains why Goku and Naruto have the same energetic and mischievous personalities!
