LEGAZPI CITY – The provincial government of Albay has now allowed the non-wearing of face masks in open spaces across the province after President Ferdinand Marcos issued Executive Order (EO) No. 3 on the same policy.
Governor Noel Rosal on Wednesday signed and issued EO No. 41 stating that voluntarily wearing of face masks will be allowed in open spaces and other non-crowded areas with good ventilation.
However, unvaccinated and or not fully vaccinated individuals, senior citizens, and immunocompromised persons who are in said places are encouraged to still wear face masks and maintain physical distancing.
The EO also said the wearing of face masks is mandatory in private and public establishments, transportation systems (land, air and sea), and outdoor settings when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Rosal said minimum public health standards intended to effectively prevent or minimize the spread of Covid-19 shall continue to be implemented consistent with the existing guidelines of the Department of Health. (PNA)
