BUTUAN CITY – The city government here has extended the general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions until September 7.

Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada issued Executive Order (EO) No. 38-A on Tuesday mandating the extension of the stricter GCQ in the city.

“The issuance of EO 38-A is based on the directive of the National Inter-Agency Task Force that placed Butuan City under GCQ until September 7,” the city information office said in a statement on Wednesday.

Under the EO, residents are mandated to use the color-coded quarantine passes while the liquor ban from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. will continue to take effect.

“Curfew hours will be observed from 12 midnight until 4 a.m.," it added.

Individuals traveling from Manila to Butuan will be required to present negative results of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.

Fully vaccinated individuals can also present their domestic vaccination card upon entry to the city.

Butuan City has logged a total of 7,918 coronavirus cases as of August 31, with 7,219 recoveries, 490 active infections, and 209 deaths. (PNA)
