MANILA – The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) will cause scattered rain showers over parts of Mindanao, the weather bureau said.
In its 4 a.m. forecast on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA) said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.
The LPA was last seen 895 km. east-southeast of Davao City.
PAGASA said it has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon affecting extreme northern Luzon will continue to bring light rains over Cagayan Valley, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon.
The Visayas will have cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue over the northern and eastern sections of the country.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
