SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The city government opened Thursday a new isolation facility at Bangbangolan Elementary School to cater to the surge of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases here.
In a phone interview, City Health Office (CHO) medical officer Dr. Joseph Alves said the facility can accommodate 70 Covid-19 patients who are asymptomatic.
“Oxygen tanks are on standby in the area and this is the 10th isolation facility in the city,” he said.
Another isolation facility is being set up at the Special Education Integrated School in this city while the water supply in Archives and Pias isolation facilities is being fixed.
“Ang nasabing isolation facilities ay naglalayong makadagdag sa kasalukuyang 232 bed capacities na mayroon ang siyudad. (The isolation facilities aim to add to the present 232 bed capacity of the city),” the city government stated in a post on Wednesday.
San Fernando City has a 67.82-percent occupancy rate in its isolation facilities.
