MANILA – Several areas in Luzon will continue to experience rains caused by the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), a weather forecaster said Thursday.

"The ITCZ affecting southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will prevail until tomorrow," said Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Rains are likely over the Bicol region, while intermittent and light rains are expected over Calabarzon.

Metro Manila has a greater chance to experience rains in the afternoon.

"The rest of Luzon will have fair weather until afternoon, but cloudy skies and isolated rains are still possible," Estareja said.

Cloudy skies and at times sunny weather will prevail over the Visayas and Mindanao, according to Estareja. Scattered light to moderate rains and thunderstorms are likely, especially in the afternoon or evening.

Meanwhile, no gale warning is currently in effect.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will still prevail over the entire archipelago.
