MANILA – The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the area and the Visayas, the weather bureau said Wednesday.
Floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Isolated rain showers, on the other hand, will be experienced over the rest of the country due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the entire archipelago.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted at 825 km. east of Mindanao and is embedded along the ITZC.
Weather forecaster Benison Estareja, however, said the LPA has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone and may dissipate within the next 24 hours. (PNA)
