MANILA – Most parts of the country will experience generally fair weather on Friday.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Bataan and Zambales due to the southwest monsoon affecting northern and central Luzon.
"The rest of Luzon will have generally fair weather. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies and chances of rains caused by localized thunderstorm are expected," said Shelly Ignacio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The Visayas and Mindanao will have warm and humid weather, Ignacio added.
Isolated rain showers may be experienced, but only for a short period, she said.
Moderate winds and moderate coastal waters will prevail over extreme northern Luzon.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, severe tropical storm Champi was last seen 1,840 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.
"It has a slim chance to enter PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility). If it enters, it would not have a direct effect on the country," Ignacio said.
"Champi" packs a maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 115 kph. It is moving north northwestward at 10 kph. (PNA)
