MANILA – The trough of Tropical Storm (TS) Inday will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over some areas in Luzon, the weather bureau said Friday.
Moderate to heavy rains may cause flash floods and landslides over the Bicol Region, Panay Island, Samar and Mindoro provinces, Quezon, Marinduque, and Romblon.
"Inday" slightly intensified, now packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 105 kph.
The hoisting of a tropical cyclone wind signal is still unlikely, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
"Inday" was last tracked 870 km. east of Central Luzon, slowly moving west northwestward. It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility early next week.
"Inday" may possibly reach the tropical storm category within Friday, but is not expected to bring heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas also continue to prevail across the archipelago. (PNA)
