KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, on Wednesday lauded the city government for its steadfast support to the local police and the campaign against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Eleazar personally commended Mayor Joseph Evangelista during the brief conference held at the City Hall after his ocular visit to the city police headquarters as part of his command visit here.
“I laud the local government unit (LGU) here for its support in providing logistics to maximize police visibility in the city to deter crime and manage checkpoints to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he said.
Last year, the Kidapawan police force emerged as “Most Outstanding Component City Police Unit” in Region 12 (Soccsksargen).
Evangelista requested the PNP chief to allocate PHP5 million to fund the expansion of the existing police station.
“He (Eleazar) assured us that he would look for funds from the PNP office to improve our police station building with essential amenities,” he added.
Meanwhile, Eleazar urged the local police force, including non-uniformed personnel, to implement the "Intensified Cleanliness Policy" and execute actions based on ethical standards.
“It is not necessary that our facility is new. This is your second home so we must clean and take care of our facility,” he said. “Discipline must be basic in every police personnel.”
Eleazar also visited the Cotabato Police Provincial Office in Barangay Amas and had a brief meeting with North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco and police chief, Col. Henry Villar. (PNA)
