MANILA – Most parts of the country will experience fair weather due to the easterlies affecting the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao on Monday.
"Because of the easterlies, a huge part of the country will experience fair weather, with isolated rains caused by localized thunderstorms," said Meno Mendoza of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The low pressure area (LPA) last spotted 55 kilometers northwest of Baguio City, Benguet, has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression.
"The LPA may possibly dissipate in the next 24 hours," Mendoza said.
However, it will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
According to PAGASA, flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to experience fair weather and isolated rains.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the entire archipelago. (PNA)
