MANILA – The Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) and the Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy (DFA-OPCD) have sought stronger collaboration to improve governance under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s watch.

In a statement posted Saturday on her official Facebook page, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said she recently met with DFA-OPCD Assistant Secretary Eduardo Meñez and DFA spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza at her office in Manila.

Ipinaliwanag sa atin ng DFA-OPCD ang tungkol sa Public Diplomacy at ang kanilang mandate sa pagpapaigting ng foreign policies sa Pilipinas. Nabigyan din tayo ng pagkakataon para pag-usapan ang epektibong pagtutulungan ng ating opisina, ang Office of the Press Secretary, at DFA-OPCD (The DFA-OPCD explained public diplomacy and its mandate to strengthen foreign policies in the Philippines. We were also given the chance to discuss the effective partnership between our office, the Office of the Press Secretary, and the DFA-PPCD),” she said.

Cruz-Angeles said any partnership aimed at making the government more efficient and effective is welcome.

Malugod nating tinatanggap ang mga imbitasyon ng pakikipagtulungan sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan para mapatatag ang paghahatid ng dekalidad na serbisyo publiko (We welcome planned partnerships with different government agencies to improve the delivery of public service),” she said.

The Marcos administration has launched a “One Messaging Policy” to prevent disinformation, misinformation and mal-information through close collaboration among government agencies under the Executive.

Cruz-Angeles also invites heads or spokespersons of government agencies to regular Palace press briefings and allows them to answer media queries about their policies and programs.

She likewise uses the OPS and her official Facebook pages to keep the public updated on the activities, programs, and accomplishments of state departments and offices under the executive branch.

Marcos previously urged netizens to monitor his administration’s announcements and plans for the country by following the Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts of the OPS.

Cruz-Angeles said her office will be coming up with a "more comprehensive" feedback mechanism to make the Marcos administration "more responsive" to the Filipinos’ needs. (PNA)
