CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – A suspected drug peddler was arrested and some PHP6.8 million worth of shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation Angeles City on Monday.
In a police report on Tuesday, Col. Rommel Batangan, director of the Angeles City Police Office, said a joint team from Angeles City Police Station 2, City Intelligence Unit and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group City Field Unit-Angeles conducted the operation along Henson St. in front of the Philippine Rabbit Bus Station in Barangay Lourdes Northwest.
Collared was Jerome Aguilar, 30, a drug watch-listed individual, of Barangay Tagumpay, Quezon City.
Confiscated from him were 10 knot-tied plastic ice packs containing suspected shabu weighing about one kilogram and with Dangerous Drug Board-estimated value of PHP6,800,000, the PHP1,000 marked money and one bundle of PHP1,000 boodle money.
"Your police here in Central Luzon will have no let-up on our crackdown on all forms of lawlessness, especially illegal drugs amid this pandemic as we continue to deliver excellent police services to the communities of Region 3,” Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, regional director of the Police Regional Office-3, said.
The suspect is facing charges in violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
