CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – A PHP93.59-million convention center will soon rise in Dingalan, Aurora to boost tourism infrastructure development.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Aurora District Engineering Office will implement the project to be located in Capitol Hills, Barangay Davil-Davilan in Dingalan.

DPWH-Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said on Friday the center can accommodate 1,000 guests and has amenities such as a 995-square meter convention hall, 290-square meter exhibit hall, an administration building, and a parking area with 140 car slots.

Once operational, Andal said the convention center is expected to attract the interests of event organizers as it can be the venue for various local, regional, and national gatherings.

"We are optimistic that this project will have a significant impact on Dingalan's economy and its tourism industry, and our construction section have committed for the close supervision and monitoring of project implementation,” he said in an official social media account post.

He also expressed the belief that travel and tourism are the main economic drivers that will help Dingalan recover from the economic impacts of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

The construction of the center started Wednesday and is expected to finish by June 2022. (PNA)
