DUMAGUETE CITY – Negros Oriental has recorded 274 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) even as the number of infections continues to rise.
Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion, in a virtual presser late Tuesday afternoon, said the results received by her office cover three days, from October 9-11.
Estacion, the Covid-19 incident commander of the province’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), said the province also logged 555 new infections for the same period.
Dumaguete, the provincial capital, tops the list with 83 new positive cases.
Four re-infections were also reported, she said.
The total caseload for Negros Oriental as of October 12 is 15,539 broken down into 12,905 recoveries, 2,317 active positive cases, and 317 mortalities. (PNA)
