Filipino-British singer-songwriter Jon Guelas, on August 25, talked about his closeness with Kapamilya star Vivoree Esclito.
In an interview with the press, including LionhearTV, at the Fat Skillet in Tomas Morato, Guelas recounted his performance with Esclito at the launch of the Kapamilya digital series, He’s Into Her and his other projects with the Kapamilya artist.
“Yeah, Vivoree’s amazing. She’s been really, really good to me. And I’m so grateful. We’re pretty close, I’d say. I mean, she sang my song with me from the music video. We’ve done a lot of things already, so yeah, hoping to do more projects in the future.”
He then detailed his experience of getting pranked by Esclito during one of her KUMU live streams.
“She pranked me one time. She was on KUMU live, and then she called me. She’s like, ‘Hey Jon, can I ask you for a favor?’ And I didn’t know she was on KUMU online. So I was like, ‘Yeah, sure, what do you need?’ She was like, ‘Bukas, can you look after my dog?’ And I was like, ‘Um, um, pwede, pwede.’ Then it turns out she was online, and all of her fans were laughing kasi, ano I would go out of my way to try and help her.”
He then considered Esclito as girlfriend material.
“Vivoree is definitely girlfriend material. I think right now she’s maybe super busy, and also me. I’m not saying no to anything, no close doors. If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen.”
He also gushed about the Filipina artists he thought were beautiful.
“I’ve only been here for six months, and I haven’t met a lot of /people. Pero, from the people that /I’ve met, the most beautiful Filipina that I’ve met/ is Vivoree. And also maybe Shanaia Gomez. That’s some of them– ah nahihiya ako.”
Guelas wrote and sang the He’s Into Her theme, Did I Let You Go. He also released other singles such as Out Of Love, Wonderland, and Work This Time.
He gained popularity after joining X-Factor UK and became a part of a boyband that toured in the Philippines.
Guelas then moved to the Philippines six months ago to pursue a career in music. He recently signed with Tarsier Records and became the first talent managed by the Concert and Events director Frank Lloyd Mamaril.
At the media interview, Guelas also hinted at his upcoming song Hardest Thing, which drops on September 16 on music streaming platforms, and revealed his plans to create an EP by November 2022.
As for music events, Guelas performs at the He’s Into Her concert at the Araneta Coliseum on August 27. He would also be taking the stage at the 1MX Concert event at Apps Court Farm, London, England, on October 1, 2022.
