Netizens wondered why Toni Gonzaga and Joey De Leon’s ‘My Teacher’ won the Gender Sensitivity award during the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

On December 27, during Gabi ng Parangal, Netizens wondered why the said film bagged the award and was not given to other films.

Netizens have shared their sentiments on social media platforms.

“Ewan ko lang kung ano ang criteria at bakit nanalo yang My Teacher ng Gender Sensitivity Award sa #MMFF when My Father, Myself’s Dimples Romana exists,” marcrimon posted.

“With all the word of mouth on Family Matters, it wasn’t still the big winner of the MMFF Awards. And My Teacher beat My Father, Myself for the gender sensitivity award! Robbed? Sounds more than just that,” IvanSaldajeno shared.

“My Teacher, with Joey de Leon in it, winning Gender Sensitivity Award. Lol tell me more,” lorenzedward stated.

“Ibinibigay ang Gender Sensitivity Award bilang pagkilala sa pelikulang tumatalakay sa pagkakapantay ng mga kasarian. Ano bang criteria nitong mga netizens kaya nila nasabing dasurb ng ‘My Father, Myself’ yung award? Dahil ba sa kissing scene ni Jake at Sean? Kalurkz!” for__keeps captioned.

“Anong award ang napanalunan ng My Teacher ni Toni G at Paul S? Isa lang. Gender Sensitivity Award. Ano yun? Pampalubag loob? Masabi lang na may award. Czarowth,” joem2019 shared.

Directed by Paul Soriano and produced by TEN17P and APT Entertainment, ‘My Teacher’ is a family drama movie featuring Gonzaga, De Leon, Ronnie Alonte, and Loisa Andalio.
