Recognizing the rise in demand for cinematic and creative video coverage at weddings and other special occasions in addition to stills, Sony continues to innovate the wedding photography industry through specialized hybrid photography workshops.
Spotlighting the versatility of Sony’s Alpha 7IV to capture both still and movies for creative professionals, Sony held back-to-back Wedding Masterclasses with live simulated weddings in Cebu and Manila that marked significant increase in interest among wedding professionals for such hybrid workshops
“Hybrid shooting, being able to produce both video and photo content, is increasingly becoming a valuable skill for freelancers and production teams. As consumers continue to look for and engage with video content, it is important to equip today’s professionals with the gear to adapt to the changing media landscape.” says Sony Philippines Sr. Marketing Director Hideyuki Wada.
Support for the wedding photography industry
“We are equally thrilled to partner with one of the Philippines’ iconic wedding venues, The Manila Hotel. Sony’s workshop did not only showcase the exceptional photography and videography talents of our creative professionals but also such romantic, elegant, and classic places where you can shoot your prenup like the MacArthur Suite and Champagne Room.” says Mr. Hideyuki Wada.
Creative outputs from the participants are shared widely online through the official hashtag #SonyHybridWedding.
Sony’s Wedding Masterclasses equip creators with in-depth shooting techniques from the country’s top lighting, portrait, and cinematography experts. Additionally, the workshops provide the opportunity for participants to sharpen their skills with the latest gear through the live demo, while also awarding the best executed video and photo content created during the shoot. The winners of the workshop contest received Sony gear with Abby Lalap (Instagram: hungry.feet) winning the best photo and Reynald Sagolili (Instagram: rain_nald_) for best video.
Sony’s Manila Wedding Masterclass for Hybrid Photographers is made possible in collaboration with The Manila Hotel, MQ Group, Nanlite Philippines, and Zhiyun-Tech Philippines.
