Talent manager and vlogger Ogie Diaz shared on Tuesday, October 19, how he was offered to sell his Facebook page to an undisclosed politician.

Diaz said on Twitter how someone asked him if he was selling his fan page with 2 million followers. He was even offered a whopping P1 million.

However, he turned it down as he jokingly said that he was “waiting” for the presidential aspirant, incumbent Vice President Leni Robredo, to take over his page.

Meanwhile, Facebook pages have been changing their names in “support” to their chosen politician.

A Netizen even shared how fan pages were being turned into “supporters” of another presidential aspirant, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

He even accused BBM of being a shopaholic for allegedly buying Facebook pages to turn its followers into his own supporters.

Facebook has been instrumental in the election period due to its billion users. This means that politicians could use it in their political campaigns.

However, there is this habit of buying big pages and using them to spread their propaganda and reach.

The freedom of the public to choose their next government official is being tainted by politicians who try to earn the post through any means.
