The sleeping giant finally woke up. About damn time.
Following back-to-back shocking losses to Nigeria and Australia, Team USA vented its ire on Argentina with a 108-80 blowout win on Wednesday (Philippine time).
Now that’s what we all want to see. The Americans have never lost three straight games on the international stage. There was actually some concern that it might happen, judging how poorly they played in their first two exhibition matches.
Looks like they finally got their groove back, shooting 51% against the helpless Argentinian defense. The NBA’s second-leading scorer this season, Bradley Beal, led the way with 17 points and was practically automatic from the floor.
Zach LaVine put on a dunkfest and added 15 markers. Did you see how he baptized Juan Pablo Vaulet with that poster jam? Sheesh, that was nasty.
Damian Lillard and Bam Adebayo also pitched in 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Team USA, meanwhile, still has two scheduled exhibition games before departing to Tokyo, Japan for the Olympics later this month.
They will get a chance to avenge their loss to Australia, followed by their final match versus Spain.
The Americans are placed in Group A in the Olympics, alongside France, Iran, and Czech Republic.
So, gising na nga kaya ang Team USA? Will they be able to sweep their coming games and carry over the momentum in the Olympics?
