Cops bust PDEA’s top drug personality in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY – A police buy-bust operation Tuesday night resulted in the arrest of the No. 1 drug personality on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) watchlist in Iloilo City and seizure of PHP800,000 worth of illegal drugs weighing more or less 115 grams.

In a report by the Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) on Wednesday, the suspect was identified as Antonio B. Romero alias Boboy, 45, married, and resident of Zone 2 Barangay Tanza Timawa this city.

He was arrested after handing over to a poseur buyer two plastic sachets of shabu in exchange for PHP50,000 in a buy-bust operation conducted in the said barangay around 6:30 p.m. of Jan. 12.

Witnessed by several village officials, the successful operation was conducted by the joint elements of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6, Team 3 and Iloilo City Police Station 1 Special Drug Enforcement Team.

The seized illegal drug was turned over to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory 6 for examination while the suspect is now locked up at the custodial facility of Iloilo City Police Station 1. (PNA)
