BUTUAN CITY – The Agusan del Norte provincial government is set to provide financial support to the 11 local government units (LGUs) in line with their respective coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination programs.
In a statement Tuesday, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Agusan del Norte (SP-ADN) said it has already approved a measure--certified as urgent by Gov. Dale B. Corvera--to give PHP1 million aid to each of the LGUs to strengthen further their Covid-19 vaccination program.
“Governor Corvera wrote the SP-ADN on Feb. 10 requesting for authority to enter into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the LGUs for the PHP1 million financial support,” the SP-ADN said.
The SP-ADN said the financial support would be sourced from the province's Supplemental Annual Investment Program for 2021.
Agusan del Norte covers 10 municipalities and Cabadbaran City.
As of Tuesday, the Department of Health in the Caraga Region said that a total of 644 Covid-19 cases are already recorded in the province since the pandemic hit the area last year.
On Tuesday, DOH-13 reported four new cases in the province. (PNA)
