Former Pinoy Big Brother: Connect housemate Gail Banawis shared her experiences of being a COVID-19 survivor.

Gail Banawis contracted COVID-19 before entering the PBB house. She was absent from the PBB house for about six weeks before she finally joined her fellow housemates in week 7.

In an exclusive interview with Gail, she mentioned that testing positive for COVID came as a surprise because she was asymptomatic. She admitted that she was worried if she will still have a chance to enter the PBB house at the time.

“It was really shocking, honestly, wala talaga akong na-experience na sintomas. So when I tested positive, it was very shocking but then I learned that there’s a possibility that you will have COVID [even though] you’re asymptomatic,” she said.

“It was a very strange time, kase di ko alam kung makakapasok ba talaga ako sa PBB, because I have to [be] quarantined.

“Honestly very stressful and I was really sad.”

When asked about how she overcame the mental stress that came along with contracting the virus. To her, having a positive mindset made her survive the ordeal.

“Getting into PBB in the first place, that was already very stressful, very hard in itself.

“I just have to be positive talaga, I had to just trust that there’s a reason for everything. Because if I get too emotional, and take it negatively alam ko na my body would follow with my mindset.”

The 24-year-old PBB housemate is an only child that’s why when she contracted the virus while she was away from her family, she admitted that the journey was hard for her.

“It was really hard kase my family is my safe place. Bilang isang only child, I’m always with them,” she said.

She said that she put her trust in the Lord, “It was really scary that’s why the only thing that I could really go to is God talaga and just trusting na everything happens for a reason.”
