We start our journey at Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort. This 900 hectare Resort has its Museum, Villas and Cultural presentations. The Main attraction is the Waterfall Restaurant and Chef Cocoy Ventura was kind enough to show us how to prepare some of the heirloom recipes of the Escudero Family.
Another hidden treasure of San Pablo is Sulyap�s Gallery Caf�. Originated in Quezon provice, it was brought to San Pablo and is now the home of the antique collection of the empalmado family. Aside from the tour we were shown how they prepare some of their dishes like the Kulawong Puso ng Saging.
We visited a restaurant at Lake Sampaloc popular amongst joggers and famous for their Goto Batangas sa Lawa.
Clang interviewed Joel Frago an overseas Filipino worker who came back to Manila and started Forest Wood Garden, an accredited site for farmers and businessmen for agri-entrepreneurship. They teach organic farming and farm to table concept.
Aside from the natural farming their people are attracted to their healthy menu, and they shared with us how they make some of their recipes, one unique delicacy that they offer is the
Plantsado, a native delicacy cooked using an old fashioned Iron, a recipe prepared by their forefathers.
